As one of the official sponsors of the FIFA World Cup 2014, Coca Cola GB wanted to leverage the hype and buzz surrounding the tournament to get footie fans and teens in the UK engaging with the brand.
We came up with the simple idea of tapping into something footie-mad teens were already doing — sharing clips of their footie skills online — and getting Coke to reward them for it.
So, we created an Instagram-powered competition where teens could win prizes (think TV, PS4, cash, signed shirts, etc.) simply by sharing a clip of their tekkers with #WhatsYourGoal.
We launched the campaign with the help of then England international Daniel Sturridge, Michael Owen, and vlogger Joe Suggs.
Got a ball? Choose a goal and score it, and you could be today’s winner of £100 in sports vouchers. #WhatsYourGoal http://t.co/lwc6vZQLcB
